Carrick Rowing Club

Carrick Rowing Club is a friendly, inclusive coastal rowing club. We offer Learn to Row courses, social club sessions and the opportunity to train and compete in regional and national competitions.

Coastal rowing is a brilliant way to explore the local waters whilst exercising in a sociable, welcoming environment so get in touch and come along!

Fancy giving it a go? We run regular taster sessions throughout the year and two Learn to Row courses per year. Please email carrickrowingclubcornwall@gmail.com for more information.

Located in Ponsharden Boatyard, Falmouth, Carrick RC is within easy reach of Falmouth, Penryn and the surrounding area. We are Cornwall’s only coastal sliding seat rowing club and have members from all over the county.

What Is Coastal Rowing?

It is the extreme version of rowing, and perfect for adventure seekers who enjoy the thrill of the unknown rowing conditions and beautiful coastal scenery. It is one of the fastest growing communities of rowers, and is particularly accessible to rowers based in locations where flat water is not nearby. Coastal rowing is easier to learn than flat-water rowing, due partly to the stability and robustness of the boats which differs from the Olympic-style boats.

Carrick RC mainly offers endurance style coastal rowing, however, as beach sprints become more popular there are opportunities to give this a go too!
